Mele Kalikimaka Blend is Back!

The return of our Mele Kalikimaka Blend means one thing—it’s officially the holiday season at Honolulu Coffee Co. Each year, this special coffee brings the spirit of aloha to your cup, marking the season with a blend that’s rich, balanced, and full of festive cheer.

Coffee Origins

The 2025 blend features comforting notes of hot cocoa, candied fruit, and sweet molasses, capturing the warmth and sweetness of the season. From careful sourcing to thoughtful blending, Mele Kalikimaka is a reminder that when coffee is grown, cared for, and roasted with love, it truly pours through.

Much like Hawai‘i itself, a place where a melting pot of people and cultures come together, we’ve combined coffees from all over the world. This year's blend includes coffees from Indonesia, Nicaragua, Brazil, Guatemala, and our very own Honolulu Coffee Farms in Kona:

  • Indonesia, Natural Processed (25%) – Fruity, earthy and full-bodied 
  • Nicaragua, Natural Processed (25%) – Sweet and fruity with a smooth finish
  • Brazil, Natural Processed (20%) – Nutty, chocolatey, and sweet
  • Guatemala, Washed Processed (20%) – Crisp and bright
  • Honolulu Coffee Farms, Kona, Washed Processed (10%) – Notes of lilikoi, dark chocolate, and raw honey

New to the Blend: Coffee from Sumatra, Indonesia

This year, we’ve added a standout new origin to our Mele Kalikimaka blend: Sumatra Takengon IKA Mandheling Grade 1. Grown in the volcanic highlands of Aceh Province at 1,200–1,600 meters, these smallholder farms cultivate coffee under lush canopy forests, combining tradition with care. The beans are wet-hulled using Sumatra’s signature Giling Basah method, which gives the coffee its full body, silky texture, and layered depth.

In the cup, this Indonesian coffee offers notes of earthy richness, molasses and lychee, which balances the brighter, fruit-forward flavors of Nicaragua/Guatemala and complements Brazil’s chocolatey sweetness. Its complex profile and storied origin not only enhance the holiday blend’s flavor but also align with our values of care, connection, and community—making it a perfect addition to this year’s festive Mele Kalikimaka Blend.
